I am saddened to announce that Earthtribe Percussion has come to the end of it's days. It was a good run. I started this small business in Moses Lake, Wa back in 1999 and kept true to my ideals and intentions of offering the highest possible quality West African instruments and never compromising. It was an anomaly to find such amazing instruments in a small Eastern Wa town and I am proud to have created that. This business has taken me on many journeys, brought so many friends into my life, and been an integral part of who I am. My customers became friends, my suppliers my confidants, and this business allowed me to raise my children in the festival circuit, enriched in culture. But with a struggling drum market, increased costs, a brutal divorce I barely survived, and a growing access to the world market, I can no longer keep my doors open. I have moved on to the video production world and am bringing the same energy, attitude, and drive I had with Earthtribe.
As I close this chapter of my life I am very saddened but eternally grateful for what it gave me in spirit, kinship, and gratification. It taught me about business as much as it taught me about people and myself. I will still do an occasional repair and keep my main tools to make drums but I will no longer keep a drum stock and it will be a side hobby at best. I thank all my customers and friends that supported me over the years. I always felt loved, respected, and appreciated for all the hard work I had to do to make such master quality instruments available. So farewell to this business that has brought me so much joy and adventure. I wish all the other drum builders the best of luck.
