These are professional Fula flutes. Known as the Tambin, this is the traditional flute of the Fulani people of the Fouta Djalon highlands of Guinea. These instruments are constructed from a special conical vine from the forests of Guinea, the largest end being on the side of the embouchure and tapering down to where the fingerholes are. These are amazing instruments and are an essential part of any collection for the person that studies traditional West African music.
